The concept of mixed signal ASIC means that analog and digital functions are mixed on a single chip. This is a particular challenge for the designer but can provide interesting and unique functionality. For example, by combining various analog and digital functions with a microcontroller (with built-in memory), you can obtain an entire system solution on a single board – also known as System-on-Chip (SoC).
