Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is an interesting area with great potential. Although it was just a few years ago that it became possible to design really low-power solutions, we have solid knowledge in this field. Primarily, we have worked with systems for audio applications.
When requested by the customer, any development project can start with a re-study where system simulations can be used to assess the feasibility of the product concept. These simulations are also the starting point for the project specification that is always the base for continued development.
DSP solutions can be implemented using discrete electronics as well as fully integrated in an ASIC. Such a solution is called a System-on-Chip (SOC) and can be very low in power and compact. In some applications, such as hearing aids, this is of vital importance. In both cases, however, optimum performance requires special DSP programming skills, and our programmers are well versed with this technology.
DSP solutions are gaining ground, even where the demands for low power consumption are strong.
